You might wonder why you can never get your old jewellery to shine like new, or you might wonder why the $15 silver item in a market has nothing like the finish that you see on a $120 item in a jewellery shop.
Well let me take you quickly through the process that I do to finish of my pieces of jewellery.
Firstly, an item comes back from the casting process and it has some pieces of metal hanging off it and the finish is all crinkly or it looks like it has been sandblasted. Here are the steps I take:
1. I use a heavy file and remove all the dags or sharp bits of metal left over from casting.
2. I next use a light metal file and I file the item as smooth as I can. I also use round files and square files and triangular files to get into those hard to get places.
3. Next I use various grades of sandpaper starting with a medium grit and sanding all over the items. Then I use a finer grade to sand all over again.
4. Now I place the items in a tumbler of metal shot. It is a mixture of small ball bearings and pointy pieces of stainless steel. It is tumbled in this with a solution of water and polish. I leave it tumbling for several hours.
5. I now use string with polish on it to get into holes and crevices where my other tools cannot reach. I run the string through the holes and polish the inside of them. This takes a lot of time and I am not fond of doing it.
6. I now use a mechanical polisher with a grease called Tripoli which actually comes from Tripoli and I use this to polish the item.
7. Now I put this into an ultrasonic machine with a solution of hot water and detergent to clean the Tripoli polish from the item.
8. Now I use another polish on the machine called Rouge. It is a red polish and now this will give my item a high gleam.
9. Back into the ultrasonic for about twenty minutes and the rouge is removed. I then dry the item carefully with a soft cloth.
10. Finally I get a polish impregnated cloth and I hand polish the item for a magnificent sparkling finish.
That's all there is to it! I now slip the item into a jewellery box without touching it with my fingers. Sometimes I'll wear a glove for this as I do not want my finger marks on the item.

If it is discovered, during the procedure, that all the tumor cannot be removed unless the entire lung is also removed, a pneumonectomy (removal of the lung) can be performed during the pleurectomy procedure.
A much more extensive surgical procedure called Extrapleural Pneumonectomy involves removing part of the lining of the heart, part of the diaphragm, part of the lung lining, and the diseased lung. This is generally followed with chemotherapy and/or radiation since surgery alone has rarely been very successful.
There are also surgical procedures for Malignant Peritoneal Mesothelioma. Cytoreductive Surgery is the name given to the surgical method that attempts to remove the tumor in the abdominal cavity that is visible to the naked eye. It is generally followed by a procedure called IPHC (chemotherapy that is given directly into the abdominal cavity) to treat any microscopic tumor cells left behind.
CHEMOTHERAPY
Chemotherapy involves using special medications, chemical substances, to treat cancer. Chemotherapy works by attacking cancer cells to prevent them from replicating. The most common way to administer chemotherapy is intravenously, or through a vein. Chemotherapy placed directly into the abdominal cavity is also an option for some cases of peritoneal mesothelioma. The medication is infused through a catheter that is inserted through the wall of the abdomen.
The role of chemotherapy in treatment for mesothelioma is not to provide a cure. Instead, it can help slow the growth of the cancer, reduce the size of tumors prior to surgery, destroy microscopic cancer cells after surgery has removed the visible tumor, or help with symptoms.
Chemotherapy can have side effects that are mild or side effects that are more severe and even debilitating. The dose may need to be adjusted or the medication even discontinued. Blood tests will be required from time to time to monitor the effects of the chemotherapy drugs, particularly the effect on your white cell count. A decrease in your white cell count is one of the possible side effects of chemotherapy. If this occurs, you can be more susceptible to infection. It is a good idea to stay away from others who have a cold or other contagious infection while you are on chemotherapy.

Shakespeare Love Poems - Sonnet 130 Analysis

Another of the most famous Shakespeare Love Poems, Sonnet 130 is strange when you first look at it. It shows Shakespeare seemingly in conflicting minds about his mistress (the dark lady). The other poems he writes are descriptive, compare with the way he describes the fair youth in sonnet 18. However, its is indeed a satire in nature and there are clever facets to this poem. He talks about the mistress as having lots of bad qualities, bad breath, frizzy hair, dull complexion. But in the end, the writer still loves her.

1st quatrain
Straight away the tone is set, and the writer compares the mistress as being nothing like the sun (compare with "gold complexion" of the fair youth in sonnet 18). With the next lines, he seems to be criticising or even mocking her. It almost seems like the writer is confession of pitying the mistress and is almost ashamed of himself for being with her. The writer says "her breasts are dun" showing that her skin is dark and dull, and white skin was perceived as beautiful at the time. He describes her hair as black wires, and again black hair was seen as common and not beautiful. This first quatrain is strange and seems to have a certain lack emptiness and lack of emotion coinciding with it.
2nd quatrain
The writer continues to criticise her, saying there is no colour in her cheeks, and that her breath smells bad. Its poems continues to sound hollow and sad. At this point we still do not know where this poem is leading. The next quatrain reveals all
3rd quatrain
The 3rd quatrain opens with "I love to hear her speak". This is typical of Shakespeare's style to completely change the tone at the start of a quatrain. "I love to hear her speak" is an honest compliment, and may be starting to convey the idea that for all her outer faults, It is the mistress's inner beauty that the writer loves. However the the next line seems to go back being derisive and harsh. "But music hath a more pleasing sound" It leaves us wondering why he has so suddenly gone back to being negative about the mistress. The next 2 lines seem to say "my mistress is no goddess".
But to understand this we must understand the contemporary poets of the time for example, Thomas Watson, Michael Drayton, and Barnabe Barnes. They all wrote over-the-top, highly romanticised sonnets, with lots of elaborate description and they were not really honest. In sonnet 130, Shakespeare has given an honest description. The writer is saying what he truly sees and feels about the mistress. This is completely unlike the much earlier sonnet 18 where the writer seems to be wearing rose tinted glasses and describes the "fair youth" with all manner of descriptive adjectives.
Shakespeare is satirising and almost making a mockery of his contemporary writers. He thinks they look silly by always by being so over the top and elaborate (a bit like how the media nowadays sensationalises all their stories), and slates them for their dishonesty.
People do not want to be complemented on qualities they do not really have. If you have tanned skin, you do not want to be complemented on how white and fair your skin looks, but maybe you would like to be complemented in such as a way as "Wow your skin is a lovely shade of caramel". Here, although the writer seems to criticise the mistress at times, he is really complementing her on qualities she really does have.
Final Rhyming Couplet
The writer ends the poem with a confession of love. For all her strange qualities which he has listed int the poem before, He still loves her. It is interesting to note that in Shakespearean English, the word belied can mean falsely represented and also sexually mounted. As this whole poem is a satire, Shakespeare could be subtly accusing his rival poets of coercion, using flattering words to get their mistresses in bed.

Admission Process: Foreign citizens, PIO card holders, OCI (Dual Citizens), NRI students and NRI sponsored students can apply under the Foreign/NRI category. 15% of the seats in private medical colleges in India are reserved for this category.

There is no transparent admission process except in KMC (Manipal/Mangalore) and SRMC Chennai. You shortlist few medical colleges, visit India, start talks with the admissions staff directly. If one can’t visit the college personally, hire a ‘broker’ (may charge Rs. 50k to 2 lacss without you knowing about it) as college admission staff hardly talks on phone. Since most of these colleges milk NRIs, they charge higher than set fees by the states by way of donation fee in cash without receipt. Therefore, even to initiate talks with admission staff, be ready to butter the palm of junior staff. A donation amount will be set. When the ‘deal’ is done, proceed to pay the amount and you get a seat in the college. This is why it’s important to make a deal early (preferably in May/June than late July when rates are higher by about 5 lacs). Except Manipal and KIMS, most others like to take the entire course fee in advance.

School Scores: As long as the school transcript mentions that the candidate had passed 12th Std with 50% marks in physics, biology, chemistry (and English in), everything will be taken care of since donation money will start ‘walk the talk’.

Course Fee: The donation fee changes every year and in the same year- every passing week. Be ready to cough up 35 lacs-70 lacs for entire MBBS course depending on college. KMC Manipal charges about us $150,000 for entire course. I may be able to help you about donation/capitation/auction fee in case of any specific query on any private medical college in India

The annual tuition fee, for instance, of KIMS is given as Rs. 4.56 lakh (COMEDK fixed fee) for the clinical degree course as against Rs 10 lakh that it charges the NRI students per year. Additional costs will include books, food & lodging of approx 8 lacs. In general, branded private medical colleges charge about Rs 40-50 lacs and less-branded would charge 30-40 lacs for whole course duration. Out of this total sum (say 35 lacs), 20 lacs is official fee (receipt given) and Rs.15 lacs is donation in cash (no receipt)

Academic and Cultural Issues: NRI/Foreign student who have not been to India and not tuned to ‘study-by-rot’ method, find it difficult to cope up with the new system. The complaints regarding hygiene in mess/hostel, hot water un-availability, room sizes, un-friendly professor, tough academic curricula should be considered closely before making up ones mind as most colleges take fees of entire course in the beginning. Also consider, if one is ready to spend 5.5 years in a town like Manipal or whether big metro like Bangalore is a place for you. Though I wished to stay clear of regional feelings towards one another, but this has been the case with few MBBS students doing their MBBS from other part where both professors and patients made the life difficult for north Indians and NRIs

Course Approval: one must make sure how to register with MCI after graduating from colleges (all the above colleges are approved ones) not listed here or if doing MBBS from other countries (some foriegn degrees are also recognized by MCI). The US students should check if the medical college would prepare them for USMLE or arrange to do such preparatory course from institutes like KAPLAN.

Other Alternative CountriesCheaper options are available in Nepal (Manipal group), Russia, Ukraine and Philipines which will cost about $35K with food for entire course. This could save potentially about $40K in MBBs – which could be invested in PG course. Also, China is attracting many students for studying 5year medicine (course conducted in English) at highly competitive rates of about $6k per year including fee, accommodation, books, insurance (except food and traveling). Some of these courses have been approved by the Medical Council of India. However, if you are going to study outside India, you need to file for a certificate of eligibility from the MCI and also give a screening test on your return to India

Conclusion: The best medical education in India is provided by govt colleges at highly subsidized fees and one needs to qualify in entrance exam. It is highly recommended to appear for exams like AIPMT (central) and COMEDK (Karnataka state exam), MHT-CET (Maha) as most of the good private medical colleges are situated in Karnataka and Maharashtra. The private medical education in India is quite expensive, though less expensive and time consuming as compared to USA. However, one has to be very serious for studies as it’s quite a challenge to do MBBS in straight 4.5 years. The college and city has to be chosen carefully as many students go thru very tough times if selection is not proper. Most importantly, starting early to search a right college is key to success.

United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) 2012

United States Medical Licensing Examination targets on attaining medical license in United States. The faculty concerned with this exam is Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME).This examination conducted through three stages. On each stage, it will testify the physician’s knowledge and skill in medical field. As different medical licensing authorities possess their own rules, this exam will provide a common criteria for giving license for practicing medicine. This examination program will reviewed frequently. Recent updates can be found on USMLE website.

Structure of USMLE
Three stages will accompany this examination that will be in computer-based manner. Step 1 is concerned with the basic knowledge of Medical Science has 322 questions with many choices separated in seven sixty minute blocks should terminate in eight hours. Clinical Skills and Clinical Knowledge are the two phases of Step 2. Clinical Skill will evaluate separately while Clinical Knowledge is multiple-choice pattern.
Twelve patient’s cases patient will give in Clinical Skills test. 25 minutes is allotted for each patient. For diagnosis, minimum 15 minutes is permitted. Step 3 has 480 questions with multiple choices separated in 30 to 15 items having blocks. It should terminate in 45 to 60 minutes. The two stages conducted in one of the Prometric Test Centers (PTC) in the world, while last stage can conduct only in United States and its territories. The properties used while examination will come under copyrighted materials. Any replication will come under the violation of copyright law.

Study Plan
It is vey useful to review question banks and leaf through graphics to attain better knowledge to approach the exam. It is better to concern about time taking to attend each question. Reviewing test materials will help for that. It is better to take diagnostic pretest. Most important thing is to practice questions, at least solving hundred each day. Some time should give for relax from studying so as to refresh mind.
How and where to get the results
If the exam is held on Wednesday or Thursday or Friday the result will be on third Wednesday. If it is on other days except Sunday, the score will come on forth Wednesday. Result will get by email given by ECFMG or NBME.
Score Validity
Score obtained by this examination is valid for only seven years. After that even though the candidates have qualified the exam, it may not serve the purpose of this exam.

The movie Waterworld is a post-apocalyptic story about a mutant named Mariner (Kevin Costner). As the polar ice-caps in the world have all melted, very little land remains, causing some humans to mutate into growing fins and gills, to adapt to their new environment.

'Normal humans' however, hate, shun and attempt to kill what they consider to be unnatural creatures. Mariner (Costner) is captured by a floating village, in which dirt is more precious then gold, and orange trees are worth an arm and a leg. During his execution, locked in a cage, the settlement is attacked by 'smokers', the villains, saving Mariner (Costner). He makes a lucky escape, reluctantly saving Helen (Jeanne Tripplehorn). Mariner then proceeds to find a legendary piece of land (Mt. Everest), which is still dry and habitable by land-living humans. Defeating the 'Smokers' on the way, Mariner, Helen, and Helen's adopted daughter manage to finally reach this paradise.

Ok, this is getting annoying a bit i know. There were a lot of TS versions released previously, but none of them is TS in 720p resolution. Yep, video is taken from German scene group PFD, and quality is great. Maybe minor color adjusting here and there wouldn’t hurt. Also there are some rumors about (few) missing scenes (~20 sec) but nothing what would ruin a story that much. Check video sample and enjoy.
